In an interview Bloomberg dated December 24 Oleg Tinkov spoke about the economic situation in Russia with a reference also to the future of his team: “If sanctions against Russia’s economy will continue to deteriorate, and if Tinkoff Bank should begin to suffer, I will be forced to stop sponsoring the team. And as the owner did not know if I could find another sponsor in Europe, probably not, and then I quit the team. ” In the past Tinkov has often accustomed to strong statements or outputs or maybe a little ‘impromptu but a character like him should never be underestimated in what he says: Alberto Contador and fellow 2015 could then present some pressure even more.
