Uruguay, we think the Cebolla. And Jamaica cries: 1-0 – La Gazzetta dello Sport

“No fear, we’ll play,” he Schafer promised. And so he did the Jamaica over time, complicating the life of a Uruguay awkward and static, shaken only by a flash of the former Parma Cristian Rodriguez. His goal which paved the way for the “Celeste” Oscar Tabarez, managed to break the taboo of the debut in the Copa America (never winning the last three editions). Picketing the “Matador” and the gem Rolan, but in the end the Uruguay is full loot. Nothing to do for Jamaica, who quit anyway to the applause of the audience.

BONE HARD – The Caribbean belie once who gave them to sacrificial victims. Tactical discipline, constant rush and great athletic ability are the weapons that allow Jamaica to put a spoke in the wheels of “Celeste”, in turn confusing under construction with a Lodeiro unusually inaccurate. Game concentrated in midfield and no shot on goal in the first half hour up to the initiative of “Cebolla” Rodriguez, who at 38 ‘engages Kerr diving with a left from outside the area. The best chance, however, happen to Jamaica, who at 40 ‘with incredibly wasted Mattocks, author of a shot svirgolato when he was all alone in front of Muslera.

GUIZZO WINNING – First fraction disappointing for Cavani, who claim a rigor and it shows only the 42 ‘with a close range shot out a little. To change the inertia of the challenge we think then a flash of Rodriguez, the result of a pattern of dead-ball that turns into the midfielder scored with a left in the fray. The Caribbean does not give up and try to respond with his head down. The results are poor, but the team of Schafer still managed to put pressure on the opponent’s rearguard making himself dangerous with two head shots of Brown in the final quarter of an hour. But Uruguay is not flustered and, without shine, brings home the first three points.
