Rome – Only two Italians on the list of 59 candidates for the Golden Ball FIFA. It is the former Juventus player Andrea Pirlo and Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini. Among the major exception is Gigi Buffon, while four foreign players who played in Serie A: Carlos Bacca (Milan), Gary Medel (Inter), Alvaro Morata and Paul Pogba (Juventus) in addition to the former Juventus Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tevez. Total training champion Italy is represented by six players. BARCELONA AND MORE REAL ‘REPRESENTATIVES – The club with the most players in the plank of the 59 candidates are Barcelona and Real Madrid. Barca led by Lionel Messi, chasing his fifth title, complete the team with Iniesta, Suarez, Rakitic, Bravo, Neymar and Mascherano. For Real, as well as Cristiano Ronaldo, the candidates for the Golden Ball are Bale, Benzema, Ramos, Modric, James and Kroos. IBRA EVEN BETWEEN 59 – Of the ‘superpowers’ the ball behind Real, Barca and Juventus, there are the Bayern Monaco, 5 (Lewandowski, Alaba, Muller, Robben and Neuer), England’s Manchester City, 5 (Bony, Yaya Toure, Aguero, and Otamendi De Bruyne), and Chelsea 4 (Diego Costa, Willian, Hazard and Courtois), are 3 players in the list of Paris Saint Germain (Cavani, Ibrahimovic and Shepherd). The list of 59 candidates will be reduced to 23 by the beginning of December and then the grand finale with the ceremony set for 11 January in Zurich.
